Indiana State Forms

Free Tax Assistance

In-Person Assistance - VITA/TCE

The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals who:

• People who generally make $60,000 or less

• Persons with disabilities

• Limited English-speaking taxpayers

Find the nearest VITA site at: irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprep or call 211. The locator tool is generally updated February-April.

Online Assistance

GetYourRefund.org connects you virtually with an IRS-certified tax preparer from their VITA program for free. If you qualify, GetYourRefund can help if you have several years of taxes to file, have not filed taxes before, or have a lot of questions about your tax return and want personal support. This process typically takes 2-3 weeks.

IRS Free File Options (Federal)

Visit apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/browse-all-offers/ to see a list of tax preparation and filing services from IRS-trusted partners. Filers can choose a service based on listed eligibility requirements.

Visit www.in.gov/dor/i-am-a/individual/infreefile/ to see a list of state tax preparation and filing services from INfreefile vendors. Filers can choose a service based on listed eligibility requirements.
