Early Literacy Outreach
Our Initiatives
It is APL’s goal for every child to experience the library and all that it has to offer.
APL provides storytimes and program visits to early learning centers within the library’s serving district. Additionally, APL delivers outreach bags of age and learning-level-appropriate books to early learning classrooms four times annually to ensure that children and educators have access to materials that cultivate and grow an interest in reading.
APL is committed to providing quality early literacy programming and outreach. Our services emphasize the early literacy activities of play, read, talk, sing, and write, which are essential habits as determined by the American Library Association’s Every Children Ready to Read Program.
