iPads and Laptops
iPads
Library customers can check out one of our 10 iPads for a 7-day loan period. The iPads are preloaded with multiple eBooks and apps (including great library apps like Zinio and Freegal) that allow customers to connect to APL and other resources better than ever. Browse the Internet, read books, peruse magazines, listen to music, play games, and do a variety of other things, all using this single device.
Every iPad case has a basic information sheet to help you get started, and there’s no need to worry about security – every time an iPad is returned, we restore it to its original settings, completely erasing anything added while the iPad was checked out. Whether you are unfamiliar with mobile devices or are a regular tech-guru, we hope you will enjoy this opportunity to explore this exciting, intuitive technology.
You must be 18 years of age or older and must present a valid driver’s license or State issued photo ID and an Anderson Public Library card without fees or overdue items to check out an iPad. If all of our iPads are checked out, you’re more than welcome to
place a hold. Please read the complete

iPads will be held for four days from the time that the hold is processed. If you do not check out the iPad within four days, a $1.00 fee will be charged to your account.

Laptops
Library customers can check out one of eight Dell laptops for a 7-day loan period. The laptops run Windows 7 and have Microsoft Office applications installed for writing letters, creating spreadsheets or a resume, or making a slideshow. Connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable and you can access the library’s digital collections—including eBooks, magazines, music, and audiobooks.
There’s no need to worry about any of your personal information being stored on the laptop – every time the laptop is shut down or restarted, the installed security software will delete any information added or changed by the user.
You must be 18 years of age or older and must present a valid driver’s license or State issued photo ID and an Anderson Public Library card without fees or overdue items to check out a laptop. If all of the laptops are checked out, customers can
place a hold. There will also be two laptops available only for use within the library building for a 4-hour loan.
