The Friends of Anderson Public Library is a nonprofit group dedicated to supporting and improving library services and resources. Located on the third floor of the Main Library, the Friends organize and implement their popular book sales. And the Friends need your help! Volunteers are needed to sort and price book sale materials on Thursday afternoons. They can also ring up customers’ purchases during the book sales, which are held on the second Friday and Saturday of each month from 12-4:30pm.
The book sales, Friends membership fees, and other fundraisers fund gifts to APL used for library programs and author visits. Since 1992, the Friends have donated over $500,000 to APL to fund programs and special events for all ages. This money is vital to the continued success of the library's programming plan since tax dollars are not used for events and activities. Wouldn’t you love to be a part of this generous organization? Contact the Friends or visit the next book sale to find out how to become a Friends volunteer.
