The parking lots north of the Main Library on 12th Street will be closed beginning the week of April 7th to begin renovations and improvements. The Library Board voted in February to approve a contract with E & B Paving to eliminate the wall between the upper and lower parking lots, removing the height difference and reducing the concrete wall on the upper lot along 12th Street and the alley to the north to six inches. Included in the plans for the redesigned parking area is a single entrance and exit from 12th Street and an electronic sign at the corner of 12th and Main streets. Work is scheduled to be completed by May 22. Library visitors can use the parking lot east of the library across Central Avenue until the construction work is completed.
