Join the iRead Book Club on Monday, October 7 as we discuss F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. This iconic classic, recently adapted into a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, depicts the drinking and decadence of Jazz Age New York as told by the young Nick Carraway. Through the tale of Jay Gatsby’s longing for Daisy Buchanan and his attempts to win her – and their past – back after having lost both, Fitzgerald portrays the lavish lifestyle of the wealthy, the contrasts between “old” and “new” money, and the limitations of the American Dream.
