2009 Carnegie Award Recipients

The Anderson Public Library Board of Trustees Vice President, Tammy Ihnat, presented the Andrew Carnegie Award to two recipients posthumously, during the May monthly meeting.

The first award went to Juanita Sigler in honor of Ms. Sigler's bequest to the Anderson Public Library. These funds were deposited into the Madison County Community Foundation. Ken Brammer (pictured below) accepted the award for Ms. Sigler.

The second award was presented to Georgia D. Stackhouse and accepted by her niece, Pat Pope (pictured below with Tammy Ihnat) to honor her bequest to the Anderson Public Library of $11,786.63. This generous gift has allowed the library to increase our large print book area for teens by 300 volumes and our adult audiobook collection by 75 items.
